Mennonite Life hosts Robert Wyble, author of the memoir Life Together, and Henry Youndt, author of the fictional Ezra’s War, on Thursday, May 19, at 7 pm, to discuss their books, both portraying the influences of alternative service.

Admission to the event at the Mennonite Life Collections Building at 2215 Millstream is complimentary. The authors are available to sign their books after the presentation. Both books will be available for purchase.

Alternative Service is a government program that allows civilian work for Conscientious Objectors who oppose participation in war due to their religious beliefs.

Ezra’s War follows a young Mennonite man serving in a hospital during the Vietnam War. He finds a deeper connection to his faith during a struggle with temptation and his commitment to his fiancé back home in Pennsylvania.

Life Together provides a glimpse into one man’s journey of faith and caregiving of his wife of over fifty years after she is diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease, inviting readers to discover the divine love that dwells in each of us.
