Ready to learn more about researching your family tree? Join Mennonite Life Archivist & Librarian Julia Wiker for an introduction to Mennonite Life’s genealogy and history research resources at the Eastern Lancaster County Library.

You’ll learn how to use the Mennonite Life Library’s online and onsite resources to research local Mennonite history, as well as your own genealogy. Online resources include FindAGrave.com and FamilySearch.org; onsite resources include archival materials, Newspapers.com, and Ancestry.com.

Christian Herr was a prominent leader in the 18th century Mennonite Community. Years after his death Lancaster Mennonites were still referred to as the Christian Herr Party.
