Jess McPherson (jessmcpherson.com) presents this one-hour Medicine Bag Workshop on Saturday, September 24, 9 am at the 1719 Museum, 1849 Hans Herr Drive, Willow Street.

Jess McPherson is an award-winning multi-disciplinary fine artist, master craftsperson, and social impact strategist born and raised in York County, Pennsylvania.

This beginner level workshop guides participants, ages 14 and over, through the process of creating a 2” x 3” leather drawstring pouch for carrying medicines or other significant items. In addition to a handcrafted hanging pouch, participants leave with fundamental skills useful for many future creative projects.

The cost is $35 and includes supplies. Members receive their discount. Pre-registration required by Wednesday September 21.

Masking at this event is optional.

Christian Herr was a prominent leader in the 18th century Mennonite Community. Years after his death Lancaster Mennonites were still referred to as the Christian Herr Party.
