Mennonite Life and Garden Spot Village come together for a series on the role of the Amish and Mennonites in the community, as well as stories of their experiences. Held in the chapel at Garden Spot Village (433 S Kinzer Avenue in New Holland), the Plain Living Series events are complimentary and do not require registration.

Join Ken Sensenig and an Amish representative to learn how Amish communities cope with Social Security, Medicare, the Affordable Care Act, farm preservation, and other government programs.

Christian Herr was a prominent leader in the 18th century Mennonite Community. Years after his death Lancaster Mennonites were still referred to as the Christian Herr Party.

Indigenous Peoples taught the Herr family and other Mennonites how to hunt game, clear heavily forested land, and how to identify native plants.
