About the 1719 Museum Tours:

  • Tours are geared to adults and pre-teens.
  • Tours begin promptly at the designated time. Your pre-purchased tickets are good for the tour time purchased.
  • Walk-ins are welcome, but please be aware that we cannot take more than 15 people on a tour. Pre-purchased tickets are recommended.
  • The tour is about 1.25 hours and requires guests to climb stairs and walk on uneven terrain.
  • Groups of 10 or more people must be scheduled in advance to receive the discounted group rate. Call 717.464.4438 or contact assistant@mennonitelife.org.

The 1719 Museum will be closed June 24–July 27 while the Herr House roof is replaced.

Hours and Tour Times

  • April – October
  • Friday, & Saturday
  • 10am – 4pm

Visitors go on a guided tour that explores an Indigenous longhouse and the 1719 Herr House and learn about the stories, histories, architecture, and broader worlds they represent.

Tours last an hour and 15 minutes and start at the following times:

  • 10:00 (to 11:15)
  • 11:30 (to 12:45)
  • 1:00 (to 2:15)
  • 2:30 (to 3:45)

Individual Ticket Cost:

Adults – $15/person

Children (7-16) – $7/child

Children 6 and under – Complimentary

Groups (10+)

Adults – $13/person

Children (7-16) – $6/child

Children 6 and under – Complimentary

1719 Museum Featuring the 1719 Herr House & Lancaster Longhouse

We are located on Hans Herr Drive, just off of Route 222 just minutes south of Lancaster City

When you arrive, you will park and enter our Visitors Center, an 1892 white farmhouse at the south side of the parking lot. You will find a team member who can arrange for your tour.
